Summary

Are you the healthy lifestyle advocate we are looking for? Someone who is passionate about supporting people on their recovery journeys? If so, then keep reading.

This position is 40 hours per week; working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.

As a Healthy Lifestyle Coordinator you will be kept busy supporting people experiencing mental illness with their individual recovery and wellbeing plan by providing activities based support. This will include developing and facilitating access to a range of activities across different Pathway services focused on a healthy lifestyle e.g. fitness, nutrition, health and social activities. This will include the delivery of local initiatives to support the Pathways Healthy Lifestyle national calendar.

The Team

You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways Auckland Health and Well Being Team. You will work alongside a Registered Health Professional and other support workers within the team. The main focus of the team is to promote health and wellbeing through promotion of healthy living and engagement in every day activity.

You will be working alongside Pathways Support Workers and Team Coaches across our services - all who have a common purpose to support people experiencing mental illness to improve their health and wellbeing.

 

You

We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature, are passionate about helping people on their recovery journeys and have a passion for improving their overall health.

You must hold a current full driver’s licence and a current first aid certificate, or be willing to obtain one. Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent.  Alternatively, you will commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for support workers to complete this study.

  • You will actively seek community resources for employees and people using Pathways’ services
  • You’re energising, inspiring others with enthusiasm and a take action approach
  • You will role model recovery focused approaches
