Maitland Private Hospital is a premier 156 bed medical, surgical, mental health and rehabilitation hospital located in the Lower Hunter Valley, less than 30 minutes from Newcastle CBD. As the only private hospital between Newcastle and Taree, we play an invaluable role in servicing the communities of Maitland, the Lower Hunter and Port Stephens.
Due to ongoing growth and the expansion of our services, we have opportunities for motivated and experienced Registered Nurses to work in our Perioperative, Rehabilitation, Medical, Surgical and Mental Health services.
Essential Criteria:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Current Working with Children and Criminal Record checks.
- Min 2 years' post graduate experience in relevant area, with demonstrated sound clinical knowledge and practice.
- Ability to work shift work, on-call and overtime as required
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance as relevant to nursing practice.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to quality improvement principles, accreditation, clinical policy development and implementation.
- Strong collaborative interpersonal communication skills with well developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with health funds, Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and third party requirements.
- A commitment to customer service and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Sound computer literacy in desktop applications, with experience with Webpas and RosterOn highly regarded
- A commitment to a team environment
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working as Ward In Charge/Team Leader highly desirable.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications, or working towards same
- Operational understanding of financial and human resources management principals
- Broad understanding of Private Hospital Rehabilitation Guidelines.
