About us
Family Planning Victoria is a leading, not for profit, state-wide provider of sexual and reproductive health care, education and advocacy. Governed by a voluntary board of directors, we have been providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services in Victoria for over 40 years.
We provide a range of services which are accessible, culturally relevant and responsive to the needs of the diverse Victorian community. These services include clinical care as well as education and training to help build the capacity of educators and health care professionals working in the sexual and reproductive health sector.
About the role
This position is a dual role providing
- support to clinical practitioners and their clients in intrauterine device insertion (IUD) consultations; and
- reception/administration duties and assistance with the maintenance of appropriate levels of clinical stock.
About you
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Knowledge and experience in a reception/administration role in a healthcare setting
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification
- Experience in online (HPOS) Medicare business transactions and accounts
- Accuracy in cash handling, Eftpos transactions and reconciliation of accounts/funds
- Demonstrated experience using patient management software (e.g. Best Practice, Medical Director)
- A non-judgemental and open attitude
- An understanding of the principles of client confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills together with cultural sensitivity and self-awareness enabling an ability to communicate with a wide range of people in a professional and appropriate manner that also maintains the reputation of FPV in the broader community
- Ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships within a team
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to provide a confidential, client focused service to the public in person and via telephone
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Valid Working with Children Check
The incumbent will also be required to undertake and complete a satisfactory National Police Check.
