The Procurement Officer is responsible for initiating market approaches for the supply of goods and services as well as carrying out duties associated with the management of contracts. This position will provide advice, assistance and support to the organisation to ensure compliance with probity, legislation and strategic policies.

Description
- Monitor tendering management procedures and practices that support the commercial supply of products and services and ensure tendering management complies with all relevant legislation, codes and policies
- Prepare Procurement Plans, Evaluation Plans and Request and Contract documentation as well as Evaluation and Post Tender Debrief reports
- Distribute tender, expression of interest and quotation documents in a timely manner and maintain a comprehensive record of distribution and correspondence, to enable the provision of up to date advice to prospective tenderers and bidders during the tender process
- Build and maintain positive client relationships and foster ongoing successful working partners
- Develop performance indicators, benchmarks and targets for contracts including periodic measurement and reporting for contracts
- Participate in other procurement activities, initiatives and projects, as required, and may be deployed to other areas within the Procurement Branch to meet client and business needs, drive cross-skilling and enable skills development
Profile
Understanding of approaches to market, tendering and quotations for the supply of goods and services in local government context
Sound understanding of the section 55 of the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government (General) Regulations that relate to the tendering function
Sound Understanding of E-procurement Systems, TenderLink and VendorPanel
3-5 years procurement experience preferably with local government experience
