Council’s Planning and Development Department is the lead agency in the Ipswich Community for managing growth and development in order to create a socially, ecologically and economically sustainable environment.  The Business Support Branch provide business support services, business systems and business improvement initiatives to all Branches of the Planning and Development Department.


The Business Support Manager is responsible for leading and providing effective management to the Branch and delivering quality planning and development outcomes in a customer focussed manner and consistent with Council’s strategic direction.  This includes identifying and obtaining business system functionality requirements and participating in the specification, evaluation and implementation of new business systems and the preparation of business case proposals.  The successful candidate will participate in the development and implementation of the Department Business Plan and budget as well as the Department’s input into Council’s Corporate and Operational Plans. 


The ideal candidate will be degree qualified and possess high level business transformation skills, extensive knowledge of contemporary information technologies and substantial level of understanding of budget/financial systems and processes, workforce planning and human resource development.  High level communication skills are required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. 


This is a full time 3 year fixed-term contract position with an attractive salary package and Council contribution to superannuation of up to 12%.
