John Holland has been selected to deliver a significant part of the Goulburn Murray Water (GMW) Connections Project, which will upgrade vital irrigation infrastructure for regional Victoria. This project will develop modernised infrastructure, assist irrigation communities to adapt to reduced water availability and build a sustainable future for productive agriculture. Construction of the important Winter Works program commenced in April 2017, with project completion due by August 2019.

 

We are currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer to coordinate on-site engineering activates to achieve project time and budget objectives

 

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
  • Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manger or Project Manager
  • Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
  • Contribute to improvements to existing designs
  • Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes 
  • Manage work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • 5-10 years’ post graduate engineering experience with 3+ years site based
  • Project Engineer and operational experience on  > $10 M Projects
  • Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite; Primavera 6
