About you
If you are a technical expert in maintenance management and asset/systems upkeep for modern metro networks, come and put your analytical expertise and experience to work and set your career on new tracks with the biggest public infrastructure project Australia has ever seen.

For this Technical Manager role, we want an excellent communicator with superb planning and organisational skills and strong understanding of railway safety.

Essential Requirements:
  • University degree or tertiary qualification in Civil and/or Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering appropriate for admission to the Institute of Engineers Australia
  • Strong analytical and observational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse and high performing maintenance/technical team
  • Experience in technical investigations
  • Sound understanding of budgeting, cost control, and performance measurement activities
Desirable Attributes:
  • Post- Graduate qualifications in maintenance or management studies
  • System performance KPI management experience
  • Trackwork possession planning experience
  • ICT experience and an understanding of cyber security
About the Opportunity
Come and work on the first driverless passenger trains project in Australia and join the public transport revolution!

Joining the Operational Readiness team as Technical Manager, you will be responsible for planning infrastructure and asset maintenance work, establishing MTS’ asset performance and monitoring mechanism, and supporting the development of an incident management and investigation framework in conjunction with the Depot and Infrastructure maintenance teams.

You will also ensure that the Design and Construction Contractors deliver fit for purpose systems that meet the project Deed and contracts requirements and satisfactorily address MTS’s long- term requirements. The asset management strategy that you develop will ensure future operations comply with MTS’ business objectives, KPI’s, safety regulations, and customer service commitments.

Located at our innovative Rouse Hill Depot, the Technical Manager role is a maximum-term contract until February 2020 with consideration for permanent opportunities.
