Our Richlands manufacturing site is looking for an experienced Product Designer/Design Engineer who is seeking the opportunity to work within a highly skilled and motivated team, developing an industry-leading product.
Operating under the guidance of our Engineering and Manufacturing leaders, key responsibilities include:
- Use SolidWorks CAD package to design product for the road transportation industry.
- Work with the engineering team to develop innovative trailer combination designs compliant with Australian Design Regulations (ADR) & Performance Based Standards (PBS).
- Use design for assembly methodology, to ensure manufacturing feasibility, and error proofing are embedded in the product by design.
- Ensure customer requirements are translated into engineering specifications, which comply with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Check drawings, designs, materials and equipment for conformity with project specifications.
- Prioritise and efficiently manage personal workloads to meet or exceed scheduling targets.
- Provide technical support in the preparation of documentation related to the product.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design reviews and problem solving activity.
Our ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to safe working practices
- 2-3 years proven experience in manufacturing and/or a tertiary qualification in Engineering(mechanical preferred)
- Experience working with Solidworks, AutoCAD or similar
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to build rapport with key stakeholders, internal and external
- Excellent communication skills
