The Avionics Engineer is responsible to the ACEASP Production Engineering Resource Manager for developing and reviewing design changes, and for the conduct of other engineering support activities related to Super Hornet avionics systems and associated support and test equipment (S&TE).
This role involves the following key responsibilities:
- Attaining and maintaining platform Engineering Authority (EA) to the level of Technical Approval (TA) for F/A-18F&G avionics systems and S&TE;
- Working towards platform Engineering Authority (EA) to the level of Design Engineer II (DEII) for F/A-18F&G avionics systems and S&TE;
- Conducting Technical Information Review (TIR).
BDA requires all applicants to be able to demonstrate the following essential qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in an Avionics related discipline sufficient to satisfy the entry requirements for membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia (IEAust)
- Experience commensurate with that typically gained over 5 years within an avionics systems maintenance and/or engineering environment
- Ability and willingness to obtain Engineering Authority (EA) to the level of Technical Approval for F/A-18F&G avionics systems and S&TE within 12 months
- Experience and knowledge in the DASA Engineering framework.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and aviation technical publications
- Ability to obtain, or retain, a defence security clearance to the level of Negative Vetting 1.
- Ability to meet the United States Government's nationality requirements for International Traffic in Arms Regulations clearance
