Job description:
A fantastic opportunity has become available in our Global Agents Control Department for an enthusiastic individual to join the team as an Analyst- Agency Accounts. Reporting to the Agency Accountant the main responsibility of this role is processing and analysing of Monthly General Accounts (MGAs) from Global Agency network to ensure timely accounting of freight, disbursement and detention accounts, settlement of dues to / from agencies, dunning / matching of freight and disbursement and monthly reconciliation of GL Accounts.
In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will be –
• Coordination with agents to ensure timely submission of MGAs and ensuring prompt settlement of monthly MGA balances
• Processing of freight, disbursement and miscellaneous accounts reported in MGA to Principal Accounting system.
• Reconciliation of receipts to Bills of Lading to clear off monthly accounting ledgers
• Monthly reporting including reports to agents regarding unreported freight (Dunning), inter-company reports and reconciliations for Group consolidation and month end MIS reports
• Accounting / reconciling D&D reported by agents
• Matching of control accounts for freight and disbursement
• Ensure IFRS accounts are reconciled and balanced at month end
• Adhoc accounting and reconciliation tasks as allocated
This role is responsible for liaising with shipping agencies across various geographies and ensuring their adherence to ANL's accounting standards.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will posses-
• Australian citizenship or permanent residence.
• Previous experience at an Assistant Accountant level.
• Well developed accounting and analytical skills with ex[posure to shipping/logistics highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong keyboard and computer skills with demonstrated ability to use MS Office including Word and Excel
• Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, take ownership of work, demonstrate initiative and work as a team.
