Heart of the role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Accountant will join a strong financial management team, working closely with two financial accountants, and be responsible for accurate technical accounting for Winning Group.

Month end processing including the preparation and posting of revenue and expense accruals and reconciliations
Coordinating and producing monthly store P&Ls and Business Unit P&Ls
Review and provide commentary of main variances to budgets and forecasts
Assistance with the preparation of board packs and reporting on working capital, inventory and DSOH
Preparation and delivery of management reporting and board reporting materials: ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with standard accounting principles
Managing inter-company recharges and the communication of these costs to the respective business units
Preparation and distribution of marketing reports to Marketing Managers setting out actual spends vs Budget
Managing group functions cross charges and assisting with queries from the Business units regarding cross charges
Posting journals from Concur – our credit card expense management system
Ad Hoc Financial reporting
Seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes to enable the delivery of an efficient and stream-lined service, documenting changes to processes and procedures
Establish, manage, monitor and improve accounting controls and tax processes
Assist the FP&A Manager in the creation and implementation of budgeting and forecasting procedures

To be eligible for this role you must be tertiary and CPA/CA qualified with a minimum of 4 years’ experience. This role would suit someone who has a genuine love for all things finance and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get right into it.

You will be a team player with a positive and proactive outlook. Your ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation, as well as demonstrating strong time management and prioritising skills will be crucial. You will demonstrate initiative and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will have well-developed numerical skills and advanced PC skills, especially in Excel. Experience with Navision would be advantageous, but not essential.

Key Skills & Experience

At least 4+ years experience Financial Accounting role
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, and/or Economics required
Experiences with strong technical accounting and financial control
Basic understanding of Accounting and Tax standards
Supervising team members
Strong MS Excel skills – Pivot Tables, VLookUp
Team player with good relationship building skills and communicates well with strong written and verbal skills
High attention to detail and best practice focussed
Team player and willing to assist team to achieve a timely and accurate result
Understand all facets of day to day business and the needs of internal and external customers
Accounting experience in a multi-site retail, wholesaling or logistics environment will be highly regarded
