Business Development Manager (NSW Metro)
A leading Sydney based distributor of global outdoor recreation and lifestyle brands is seeking a highly-skilled Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Sydney Metropolitan area.
The BDM is responsible for maintaining and growing business with existing customers while also identifying and executing on new business opportunities. Our portfolio of top brands spans a variety of customer types and channels, and offers substantial growth for the right person.
Responsibilities include:
1. Contribute to the development of quarterly and annual brand sales budgets; meet or exceed assigned budgets.
2. Develop and execute on account plans, including range planning, product/brand launches, marketing activities, store merchandising, staff training and event participation.
- Actively identify, qualify and cultivate new customers, channels and business opportunities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers.
5. Create, adhere to and report on a regular customer call schedule.
6. Work with our Sales Manager to develop and execute on key account plans.
7. Provide local operational support on customer service issues, including order management, product training, product warranty, merchandising support and other administrative needs.
8. Participate in local and national trade and consumer events.
Critical to your success in landing this role will be your ability to demonstrate you possess the following skills:
1. 2-3 years' experience in a similar role would be preferable.
2. Experience in representing outdoor recreation, gift or workwear brands is helpful. Enthusiasm for our brands and products is critical.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills
4. Relationship-building skills, the ability to interact well with a variety of people
5. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
6. A demonstrated ability to self-motivate, prioritize effectively, and use resources efficiently
7. A demonstrated ability to problem-solve creatively and positively
8. Experience developing and executing on account plans and new business development
9. Candidate must be technologically proficient (mobile communications, Microsoft Office, etc.)
10. Candidate must have clean driving record with current driver's license.
11. Candidate must have permanent Australian residency or an existing work visa.
