The Role 

Reporting to the HR Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the provision of excellent HR operational advice and guidance of Goodyear Dunlop HR policies and processes to all GDT ANZ managers and associates. You will thrive on the challenge of managing interesting and varied workplace investigations and cases, and be supported by a collaborative team who will foster your growth. Using your sound ER knowledge, you will be relied upon and trusted to provide quality recommendations and advice on cases to enable business decisions.

Operating in a fast paced, highly results driven organisation, this role focuses on both the retail and corporate aspects of the business. You will coach and counsel business leaders and be comfortable to challenge thinking, provide insights and give feedback. Your role will be to enable our leaders to make decisions that are consistent and aligned with our values and ultimately drive business performance.

You will be focused on increasing the capability of line leaders to manage, supporting them to diagnose issues, identify solutions and tailor coaching on all operational matters, i.e., absence management, disciplinary and performance management guidance and grievance/dispute resolution.

This role will provide you the opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote standardisation across the business and provide overall superior HR customer services to the business.

You will enjoy a high level of ownership within this role, with a strong focus on collaboration with other team members and internal stakeholders in support of overall HR strategies and deliverables.

Your responsibilities will also include: 

  • Advise and work with managers on the performance of their teams.
  • Manage the investigation process and required disciplinary processes bringing a sound understanding of procedural fairness and commercial thinking.
  • Lead Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
  • Continuously act with agility and adaptiveness in a changing environment.
  • Act as first point of call for all GDT ANZ associates with any employment related questions, concerns including interpretation of award and EBA conditions.
  • Work closely with the HR Operations Lead and HR Operations & Safety Manager to provide accurate metrics in terms of key risks, issues, quantity and type of HR queries that are raised to drive a continuous improvement environment.
  • Monitor issues and report key trends, and where appropriate make recommendations and develop solutions in partnership with the business and the broader HR team.
  • Act as a HR Generalist in reviewing, creating and updating company policies and processes, as well as defining new requirements and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Education:

As an Experienced HR Generalist, you will have demonstrated knowledge of Employment Law in Australia, with the comfort and confidence in managing the end to end process of complex investigations and disciplinary discussions. You will have the ability to influence a range of personalities at all levels with a development and coaching approach motivated by helping managers build their capability, and identify the right people related solutions.

Ideally your experience stretches across blue and white-collar environments with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You thrive on a fast paced, results driven environment, and your experience has seen you manage multiple and varied cases at the same time developing excellent organisational skills.

Your HR generalist experience of effectively dealing with a range of business related challenges and initiating new ideas will put you in good company with an organisation fostering continuous improvement and driving change. Providing advice and counsel to managers is a critical aspect of this role, therefore your excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical, along with your ability to act with integrity

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Human Resources or related discipline with proven track record of operational experience.
