The People & Culture Team has a reputation for adding real business value. Building capability and providing the right tools and processes for the business to deliver its strategic outcomes is a strong focus of what we do. The People & Culture Team’s Strategic Objective is to ensure that Greyhound Australia has the right people with the right capabilities to execute its business strategy and deliver sustainable business performance.

We are looking for a highly effective and organised People & Culture Partner to join our close knit People & Culture Team to provide HR advice and support to managers and supervisors on workforce planning, recruitment, training, development, performance counselling, performance reviews and remuneration review processes. This role will be responsible for developing strong internal relationships across geographical dispersed segments of the Greyhound Australia business. The People & Culture Partner will also be called upon to lead and support HR projects from time to time as will a requirement for intra and interstate travel.

To be successful, you must possess a demonstrated ability in advising managers possessing ranging experience levels with the understanding and application of Enterprise Agreements and contracts, and industrial relations requirements. Providing excellent customer service delivery by coaching managers and supervisors with people matters all with high attention to detail and integrity is paramount to succeed in this role. Supporting managers through performance counselling and disciplinary processes, including providing advice on appropriate action, documentation and conducting meetings will form a major part of your weekly activities therefore a solid background with conducting difficult conversations would be highly regarded.

Mandatory

  • Tertiary qualifications (or working towards) in appropriate Business, HR/IR related disciplines
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR or employee relations role
  • Previous experience in performance counselling processes
  • Exceptional ability to build relationships and influence at all organisational levels and with external stakeholders
  • Self-starter, demonstrates initiative, sound judgement and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage conflict
  • Highly organised and able to deal with large volumes of work, multiple priorities and a fast pace
  • A strong customer orientation and preparedness to work with and influence through others to achieve results
  • A strong results orientation whilst demonstrating a professional work ethic
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Desirable

  • Exposure to blue collar environments - preferably the transport industry
  • Experience in using Chris21 for record management and reporting
