Currently undertaking a project to source and implement a Next generation Ticketing Solution (NGTS). This new solution will enable the State to implement a new paradigm in how customers can manage and pay for their use of passenger transport services.

This role will be required to work within a multidisciplinary team that includes varying degrees of matrix management and the need to be flexible in working across boundaries and undertaking any task required to deliver an outcome. As such, the proposed candidates must be resilient and resourceful.

The multi-year Next Generation Ticketing (NGT) Project will transform the way customers can travel on public transport by delivering new innovative ticketing technology to Queenslanders. The NGT solution will extend the range of payment options available to customers for travel to include mediums such as bank cards, smartphones and wearable smart devices. To support this change, NGT will require all the current go card equipment on all buses, trains and ferries to be changed to new devices which will also bring with it a significant level of organisational change and retraining across the Department and all impacted Queensland Transport Operators frontline and head office staff. Queensland will also be among the leaders worldwide to implement the next generation of complex ticketing systems to replace its current "go card" solution.

The NGT project is one of the top initiatives for the Queensland Premier over the next 4 years and provides an enabling platform for several key future Queensland government initiatives. It involves significant customer change transition and the management of a complex network of impacted internal and external stakeholders to be successful. The project will be delivered by a team of internal experts, a lead Supplier and multiple other supporting suppliers.

A Master Scheduler is required for the Next Generation Ticketing Solution to lead all aspects of the NGT Program Scheduling.

Tasks Include:

  • Ensure effective and accurate planning and scheduling is in place across the many multifaceted planning aspects of Program delivery
  • Develop pragmatic, fit for purpose Schedule Management Guidelines for the Program that are aligned to appropriate external and TMR standards
  • Ensure all lead Suppliers are maintaining appropriate and well maintained, credible schedules that are aligned to good practice
  • Support capability development of the schedule management direct report for the Program
  • Undertake in-depth analysis and health checks of all Supplier schedules reporting on and tracking to resolution, problem areas requiring rectification
  • Facilitate tracking and ongoing management of the complex schedule interdependencies within and external to the NGTS Program
  • Develop accurate and timely whole of Program and sub-program schedule reports tailored to different stakeholders needs
  • Provide schedule-based resource allocation/utilisation reporting to support forward planning including rationale for new hires and/or contract extensionsThe Master Scheduler will have a Program Scheduler reporting to the position.
  • The Master Scheduler is required to start as soon as possible and be willing to commit to remaining available to the NGT Project through to 31 December 2021.

The proposed candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team, and managing small scheduling teams, and working proactively within a project to identify and undertake risks, issues and bottlenecks, and supporting activities required to manage and overcome them.
