About the role
The IT Security Engineer performs two core functions for the enterprise. The first is the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions while the second is the identification, investigation and resolution of security breaches detected by those systems. Secondary tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments.
The IT Security Engineer is expected to be fully aware and involved in the ongoing security goals of the organization moving forward. This role also sits within the greater Technical Services team and may at times assist with other operational activities as required.
What you will bring
- Extensive experience in cyber security service delivery
- Background formulating policies and procedures for ongoing IT security
- Strong communication skills and customer service ability
- Highly developed analytical skills
- Good understanding of IT security architectural principles and frameworks
- Current IT security certifications
- Degree qualification or significant industry experience
