Land Access and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor

About the role

The Land Access and Stakeholder Engagement (LA&SE) Advisor, reporting to the State Manager, govern land access and stakeholder engagement functions. The LA&SE Advisor will also be expected to provide specialist technical support and advice to key internal and external stakeholders on land access and statutory approvals requirements through the lifecycle. 

The Advisor will be also responsible for working collaboratively with the broader Land Access and Stakeholder Engagement team to ensure there is a cohesive engagement approach to those external stakeholders impacted by the rollout including Local Government Authorities, Utilities and Government bodies. 

The LA&SE Advisor will interface with many contractors across a variety of builds and collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organisation. 

Skills:

• Work collaboratively with Delivery Partners to enable a clear understanding of stakeholder engagement expectations, land access requirements and resolve escalated issues/objections as appropriate. 
• Work collaboratively with regional deployment, design, HSE, and network operations staff during the design, construction and network operations phases of the rollout. 
• Attend and/or lead related stakeholder meetings with approval authorities and relevant external stakeholder groups. 
• Ensure the timely management of objections, complaints and/or stakeholder issues. 
• Elevate contentious issues to the VIC/TAS State Manager. 
• Provide input into Land Access and Stakeholder Engagement strategy, document, process and system development. 
• Review and provide feedback on Delivery Partner draft design and construction items for land access and statutory approval activities. 
• Undertake Audits and report to VIC/TAS State Manager on areas of non-compliance. 
• Undertake high level strategic engagement with key state/territory statutory approval authorities and departments as part of regional approval authority engagement program. 
• Minimise Delivery Partner risk in ensuring that relevant Commonwealth, State/Territory and Local Government legislative and statutory approval requirements are met. 

Accountable:

 Assist delivery partners in meeting their obligations in relation to land access, stakeholder engagement, complaints management, community notifications and events
- Work collaboratively with regional deployment, design, HSE, network operations and maintenance delivery partners to enable a clear understanding of legislative and statutory approval requirements and    assist/undertake where appropriate. 
- Identify emerging community, stakeholder and land access issues relating to the design, build and operation and act to mitigate/resolve those issues through the LA&SE strategy. 
- Develop strategic working relationships with stakeholders such as local councils, utilities and relevant government agencies to achieve business targets 
Provide input into Land Access and Stakeholder Engagement framework & strategy from a continuous learning prospective. 
- Lead/attend meetings with key internal and external stakeholders to provide input on land access and stakeholder concerns.
