Our Client

Our Client is a consultancy based in Sydney and Melbourne. They partner with some of the biggest vendors in Australia.

The Role

As an experienced Docker consultant you will be involved in working with clients to design, deploy and productionalise Container infrastructure based on Docker EE and Kubernetes, be trained in Docker MTA (Modernising Traditional Applications) and work within a DevOps practice with a passionate & dedicated team.  Proficient with Kubernetes and ability to design and implement end-to-end container management solution with Kubernetes.   Experience with development of distributed services targeting Kubernetes with stringent reliability and performance requirements.  Proficient with Kubernetes' internal architecture and operations and sound knowledge of container technologies and the tools and challenges around them.  Experience in leading container (Docker) architecture, Docker universal packaging, container orchestration and Micro services architecture pattern.

Skills and experience

  • Participate in meetings with key stakeholders
  • Gather customer’s requirements
  • Analyse current customer’s environment
  • Translate business and technical requirements into a solution design
  • Perform hardware platform selection and specification.
  • Produce technical documentation including build guides and run-book documentation
  • Creation of testing and acceptance plans for implementation
  • Lead or participate in a solution design process

Ideally you will have a number of the following: 

  • Knowledge of Docker Opensource and Highly desirable would be Docker EE Certification
  • Experience in Kubernetes
  • Highly desirable to know Puppet, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, Json, PowerShell PDT, DSC
  • Must know and have experience in Azure and AWS
  • Must have experience in DevOPS management tools, continuous development tool sets
  • Desirable to know Bash, Openstack and Google Cloud but not necessary
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code for networking, specifically in Cisco ACI, Azure and AWS
  • Must have experience in deploying and presenting multiple servers on disparate LAN segments at the same controlled time e.g. Within a 3 tier architecture
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
