Our client is based in Caboolture, Queensland and is seeking a Project Officer to assist with their Integrated Transport Strategies commencing 2nd July 2018.
 
This contract is initially up until 21st December 2018 working 36.25 hours per week between the hours of am to 5pm.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of the Integrated Transport Strategies. Develop ideas, prepare concept plans and assist with the implementation of integrated transport initiatives that achieve identified strategic outcomes within the Complete Streets portfolio, consistent with the strategic transport policy.
• Provide all necessary support to the Principal Transport Planner – Complete Streets Planning to assist in carrying out their duties including preparation of program budgets, capital works planning, program monitoring, policy development, reports and presentations.
• Provide professional and technical support to the team. Anticipate and forecast actions required to advance the achievement of project objectives, make recommendations and provide professional advice.  
• Support the development, implementation and tracking of active transport projects to inform future network planning.
• Prepare grant submissions for capital projects to support the Complete Streets program and other integrated transport programs. Develop partnerships and maintain external relationships particularly with state and local government agencies to achieve integrated transport outcomes.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual capital works program to seek prompt delivery of Complete Streets projects and maintain reports to funding agencies as required.
• Undertake stakeholder consultation and communication initiatives to inform the community of transport infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate, support and work closely with colleagues in the Integrated Transport Planning and Design Department to continuously improve the quality of service of the Complete Streets team.

 
To be successful, you will possess the following skills:

• Degree qualification in transport planning, urban design, civil engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and project management software.
• C class driver’s licence.
• Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role or a role requiring a similar skill set.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare complex funding submissions and financial management of programs including budget calculations, financial reporting and cash flow forecasting.
• Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and apply sound integrated transport management best practice principles that are consistent with adopted policies and strategies and apply creative problem solving.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and manage programs and projects to achieve active transport and placemaking outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment communicating and motivating effectively at all levels of the organisation, contributing to a positive work environment with a strong focus on provision of quality customer service
• Provide a high level of skills in stakeholder engagement, negotiated outcomes and resolution of conflicts at all levels of stakeholder interaction

Working with this high profile organisation, your hourly rate will be $41.03p/h + Super.
