About the opportunity 

Reporting to the Manager, Student Experience, you will be working as part of the Education team. In this role you will deliver daily administration activities in your work area to ensure that great level of support is provided to staff, students, clients and visitors in a pro-active manner. You will also provide Faculty-specific administration support particularly matters that falls outside the remit of Student Services PSU. 
  
Other duties include assistance in the design and delivery of programs and initiatives that help enhance the student experience and work collaboratively with the Partner Engagement and Outreach team to support student programs such as the O Week welcome, Science Graduation and many more.

 

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications with relevant experience in student support programs or student administration, along with an understanding of current issues impacting the student experience and the desire to support and assist students
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong customer service skills, experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and well-developed public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • Numeracy skills together with experience in low-level data analysis

The Faculty of Science is one of six faculties operating within the University and includes the Schools of Chemistry, Geosciences, Life and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics, Psychology, the Sydney School of Veterinary Science and the Unit for History and Philosophy of Science.
