Universal School of Music (USM) is searching for a fun, creative and super driven administrative sales officer who is passionate about shaping the landscape for training and development of musicians, artists and entrepreneurs in the new music industry.

USM is a growing cultural movement in music that provides a wide variety of programs and pathways for musicians, artists and creative entrepreneurs. USM has trained thousands of musicians and provided the necessary skills, platforms and opportunities to become successful independent professionals in the industry. Our team of leading industry mentors specialise in songwriting, recording, production, personal/professional/artist development, marketing, sales and business.
Our mentors have also worked with institutions such as Berklee College, JMC, Universal Music, Sony and several independent labels, agencies and venues in Australia and internationally for over 20 years.
About You
We are seeking individuals who have experience working in sales, have exceptional PC skills and love to thrive in a multifaceted role working within a team of like minded creatives who are re-defining and pioneering a new culture in training and education for musicians, artists and emerging entrepreneurs.
You demonstrate a genuine desire to invest in self-development and thrive on sharing your knowledge, experience and learnings with others. The right person will have the ability to adapt in multi dimensional role and meet individual KPI's and thrives working within a fun environment, team and culture.
We are seeking team players who can add value, work together to guide and develop musicians and artists to become independent working professionals in today’s evolving music industry.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Australian Citizen or permanent resident visa
- Minimum 2 years experience working in a fast paced administration role
- Strong organizational skills and excellent time management skills
- Intermediate knowledge in MS Excel, MS word and MS Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, warm and friendly phone manner
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
- Must have own car and valid driver’s license
Your Role
Roles: Sales, Timetable Management, Administration, Customer Care and Day to Day Operations
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets and KPI’s
- Manage timetables and new enquiries
- Book and manage appointments for prospective new members
- Manage member accounts
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Manage feedback, disputes and reports
- Assist mentors, teachers and team requests
- Provide ongoing support to members
- General cleaning and maintenance of studios
- Assist with event management and manage ticket sales
- Play an active role in social media updates and lead generation
- Have flexibility to update working hours as demand increases
Renumeration & Hours
The right person will commence a 3 month casual trial and may be offered the opportunity to join the team either par-time (25-30 hours per week) or full time (38-40 hours per week $55k + super).
Working hours consist mainly of afternoon-evenings on weekdays, morning-afternoon on Saturdays and occasional Sundays and Friday/Saturday nights during live events.
Increases in remuneration/hourly rates will be subject to bi-annual performance review/evaluation and such opportunities within the company may be offered to outstanding team players who tick all the boxes.
The position commences on 12th July, 2018 and includes preparatory and ongoing training.
