Our client, a successful and progressive large-scale Dairy business is pleased to invite applications for a newly created position of Dairy Operations Manager.
The Role
Based in the Goulburn Valley and reporting directly to the General Manager (GM) of Farms you be responsible for overseeing the production of a newly formed cluster of farms. You will be actively involved in planning, implementation, and management to ensure that all functions of the day-to-day operations are performed and maintained to a high standard of safety and quality.
You will provide high-level management support to the GM of Farms, work closely and collaboratively with farm managers, staff and consultants to achieve production targets, set budgets, manage staff and ensure strict compliance with company procedures for workplace health and safety, milk quality, animal welfare and risk management. You will also be required to:
* Take accountability for your key task areas
* Take responsibility for safety and quality
* Manage HR matters; set + manage farm budgets/targets
* Represent the organisation at industry events
* Keep accurate business records
* Have excellent time management + organisational skills
* Take an action approach to problem-solving
Essential Skills and Attributes
If you are the right person for this opportunity you will have exceptional business acumen and demonstrated experience in managing a large-scale dairy farm business, including staff and budget management. The ability to liaise with a wide range of people and stakeholders at all levels, plus:
* high-level communication skills
* excellent writing and analytical skills
* high-level computer skills incl. MS Word & Excel
* demonstrated knowledge of industry organisations
Qualification and other requirements
A current, valid Driver Licence with no restrictions.
Qualifications in Agri-Business or Agriculture will be highly regarded.
