Join our team at the Peer Recovery Community (PRC) situated in Williamstown. This opportunity is also open to someone with a personal lived experience of mental ill-health and recovery.
Our vision at the PRC is to create an environment with a sense of permanency, hope, enhanced optimism, confidence, and sense of self. The service provides secure, affordable, time limited support and housing, for people experiencing mental health challenges and a psychosocial disability, or dual disability.
Your new role includes:
- working part time, 28.95 hours per week on a fixed term contract until 31 March 2019, with provision for early termination
- working on a roster that involves working across 7 days per week and may include day, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts
- developing trusting relationships with the adults living at the residence who are experiencing mental health challenges
- supporting clients through transition processes to increase their ability to achieve their self-directed goals
- working within a recovery oriented framework to support individuals, families and carers
- planning and developing group work programs that will assist customers to build their skills, focus on their recovery and work towards transitioning back to their natural community
You will have:
- tertiary qualifications (minimum certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind
- previous experience working with people living with mental health challenges, and/or a dual disability
- the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- effective clear confident communication and active listening skills
