About the Organisation

Individualised Community Access Services (ICAS) is a small, client focused organisation that provides practical assistance for people with a disability to participate in mainstream community activities.

The organisation supports people with a disability to enjoy a quality lifestyle by participating in community activities and to achieve their lifestyle goals.

As the name suggests, all clients are assisted on an individualised basis. The practical support provided is driven by each client's individual goals. Once ICAS has established with the client what their goals are, a support plan is developed. The focus is on practical assistance, and enabling the client to achieve their goals.

The ICAS mission is to provide client driven, personalised, flexible and responsive services to people who live with a disability so that they may optimise their quality of life and live as independently as they would like.

About the Opportunity

We require an experienced support worker to assist a charming man in Bracken Ridge, QLD. Experienced Male support workers are encouraged to apply.

The role involves helping him to access the community for five hours per day for two to three days a week (weekdays only). He likes puzzles, going for drives, jokes and humour as well as doing fun things and leisure activities in the community. 

Our client has an acquired brain injury and requires to use his wheelchair to access the community. You are required to assist him to get in and out of your car when you will be taking him out for a drive and his wheelchair is foldable. You will be paid a mileage allowance. 

This is regular on going work. The work is richly rewarding and no two days are the same and you will be trained in the client's needs.

You need to have your own car, an open driving licence and be willing to obtain a First Aid certificate with CPR.  We will assist you to apply for a positive notice card which allows you to work with people with disabilities. 

Immediate start and training available for the right candidate.

ICAS is a small organisation free from excessive bureaucracy, and has a very specific agenda with service delivery, which creates program stability with the organisation. As a result, the successful candidate will have direct access to the Director.
