Carlton Football Club is looking for a creative and self-motivated individual as their Digital Manager.

The Digital Manager will lead a team of six staff and will be directly responsible for driving the digital and online area of the business, including increasing commercial assets and profitability of the Club’s digital properties.

This is a full-time position that sits within the Communications and Marketing department and reports directly to the General Manager, Communications and Marketing. This role works alongside the media and marketing teams to contribute strongly to the development and implementation of the Club’s strategy and production across digital and social media. 

The role also oversees the day to day running of the central digital marketing streams to provide delivery of the Club’s digital strategy, in line with the strategic plan. This position will also work closely with the consumer business and commercial teams to engage, cultivate and enhance key integrated digital campaigns and commercial deliverables.

The Digital Manager will also ensure that a comprehensive rollout plan is developed, maintained and executed on an ongoing basis for each deliverable required across the digital and commercial disciplines.

This role will be integral in shaping the overall digital consumer experience and will deliver strategic outcomes that drive actions with measurable impact.

This position is based at Ikon Park in Carlton North and will be offered on a full-time basis.

The key responsibilities for this role are, but not limited to:

Digital Strategy and Commercial

  • In consultation with the General Manager Communications and Marketing, develop and implement the Club’s digital strategy incorporating strategic priorities including commercialisation of digital assets
  • Drive and manage all digital commercial commitments, including implementation and execution plans in conjunction with relevant departments
  • Drive E-commerce growth and execute the Club’s digital presence through effective implementation of E-commerce and digital strategy and content
  • Measure and report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and activations, including commercial deliverables, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Work closely with the digital team to define and execute on the digital and social media strategies
  • Deliver best practice digital strategy that effectively integrates across all club communications channels

 

Digital Marketing and Engagement

  • Implement multi-channel digital marketing strategies and execute across web, SEO/SEM, email, paid social and display advertising
  • Maintain social media presence across all digital channels and properties
  • Develop, implement, track and optimise digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimise spend and performance, based on these insights
  • Build scalable and digital execution plans that align to the marketing strategy and in accordance with best practice
  • Grow, cultivate and commercialise relationships online through engaging content, innovation and enriching experiences

People Management

  • Provide sound people leadership, direction, structure and deliverables (including KPIs) for team members
  • Play an active role in the personal and professional development of each team member including day to day coaching, support and leadership.

Selection criteria

Candidates will need to address the following selection criteria:

Qualifications, knowledge and skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (including Digital/Communications/Marketing/Business)
  • At least five years professional experience in digital within a related industry and a demonstrated history of successfully building marketing strategy and execution
  • Commercially-savvy, fast-paced, proactive and creatively minded with strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking. Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing and growing work environment with a growth and solutions focused mindset
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital and measurement as well as knowledge of digital platforms and tools, such as Google Analytics and Cloud
  • Experience in driving traffic, conversion and revenue growth through the implementation of digital marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively plan and manage operational schedules in addition to managing business reporting requirements to senior management
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the execution of communications deliverables across internal and external stakeholders, including messaging and the assessment of appropriate channels and strategy relevant for the target audience
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively across departments, with internal and external stakeholders and influence where required
  • Demonstrated experience managing, leading and developing teams and functions and the ability to manage and report on budgets
  • Exceptional organisational, planning, time management and communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure whilst managing themselves and their team members.
