About Our Division

We are the physical foundation of the teaching, research and learning that takes place at the University, and we are proud of the important role we play.

The Division is responsible for buildings with a replacement cost of NZ$2.5 billion, and more than 22,000 hectares of land. With over 3,500 University Staff and 20,000 students, it's a bit like helping to run a small town.

The Role

You will be responsible for creating high quality, sign writing / painting work for a wide range of University buildings and fixtures.

The position is well suited to a skilled sign writer with good trade experience. You will become our resident expert for all signwriting questions, projects or inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair, maintain, alter or carry out new sign writing, painting or other associated work.
  • Manufacture high quality vinyl lettering.
  • Undertake digital printing.
  • Advise staff and departments on issues and solutions as requested.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Prior commercial / trade related sign writing experience
  • Sound knowledge of sign writing techniques
  • Familiarity with methods to protect existing surfaces while carrying out work
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe illustrator, Signlab and RasterLink is a bonus.
