Better Futures Program, UnitingCare Queensland (UCQ) is seeking enthusiastic and creative individual’s to fulfil a number of casual positions with the potential to progress to permanent part-time employment in our Townsville branch. Due to our rapid expansion under NDIS we have a number of positions available for the right people.
In this role you will essentially be required to:
- Support community participation and inclusion for individuals and families.
- Support in home skills development and personal care.
- Undertake support and training in community development and inclusion principles and practices to build inclusive communities in the Townsville area.
- Work independently and creatively within a dynamic team environment.
- Potential workers can work alongside more than one individual.
- Potential staff must have own comprehensive insured car.
- Hold or be able to obtain a Blue & Yellow Card – Working with Children & Adults with a disability
- Qld Drivers Licence
- Hold current or be able to obtain First Aid & CPR Certification
Individuals we work alongside of: At Better Futures UCQ we support and mentor people of many and varied abilities and skills in a flexible working arrangement to engage within the Townsville community. The individuals and families we work alongside of will be of various ages, cultural backgrounds and require individualised support.
About You: If you are creative, enthusiastic, proactive, positive and willing to learn and experience community inclusion principles and practices, YOU are the right person for Better Futures. You will be required to work independently as well as contribute in a team environment.
Previous experience working with people with disabilities is desirable however not essential as Better Futures offer and encourages professional development and ongoing training.
