Based in Oakey on Queensland’s fertile Darling Downs, Grainhart is one of our state’s largest grain packing operations. Family owned and operated since 2005 Grainhart continue to grow as an industry leader in the grain packing and transportation industry.
Grainhart now seeks a Container Transport Manager to assist them in continuing to provide the exemplary service they are famous for.
Role tasks include:
- Provide management and supervision of up to 12 staff including work direction, recruitment and selection, and performance management;
- Scheduling of container movements from our Oakey location to the Brisbane Wharf, including liaising with container parks and storage facilities;
- Identify, plan and allocate appropriate transport and container resources including online booking and management of such resources;
- Administer and coordinate the vehicle maintenance program; and
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders including our clients, Department of Agriculture & Water Resources, and Brisbane Wharf contacts.
Experience and skills required:
- Previous experience in the management and scheduling of containers is essential;
- Sound working knowledge of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator requirements;
- Sound understanding of heavy vehicle maintenance scheduling;
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership ability;
- High level of attention to detail;
- High level computer skills particularly Microsoft Excel; and
- Previous experience within, or knowledge of the grain industry is preferred.
