Within the Centre for Health Informatics we have two teams of software engineers who develop mobile and web-based applications focused on healthcare. ClinTouch is an example of one of our success stories and is a mobile app that enables personalised clinical monitoring and supports self-management of symptoms for people with serious mental illness. CFHealthHub is another successful project and provides a digital platform (web and mobile) to support adherence to treatment in people with Cystic Fibrosis.
We use a range of different software technologies for our projects including Java, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript, AngularJS, MySQL, Cordova, Android and iOS. It is likely that you will get involved in most or all of these technologies during your time working at the Health eResearch Centre. To ensure that the software we develop is of high quality we use a range of techniques including unit, integration and system testing and peer code review. You will be required to work across the whole software lifecycle to deliver innovative software systems for a range of projects.
We are now seeking a talented software developer to apply their skills to the further development of a number of exciting software products. You will have a passion for technology and developing software combined with a genuine enthusiasm to make a difference to the health and well-being of the population. You both will work on a range of different projects related to mobile health and the software developed will include both mobile and web-based applications. This post is based at the University of Manchester in the Division of Informatics, Imaging and Data Science working in the mHealth Applications Team.
