Detail information about job Research Associate: Blockchain Technologies. Terms and conditions vacancy

We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate to work on the EPSRC project "Digital Liquid Democracy: Delegative End-to-end Verifiable E-voting". The aim of this project is to advance the state-of-the-art in blockchain security and end-to-end verifiable e-voting research.

We invite applications from enthusiastic individuals who have at least PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science. Ideally, you must be able to demonstrate a research background in the areas of cryptography, blockchain, and e-voting. The role will require you to engage with external partners and stakeholders. Therefore, excellent communication skills and experience of collaborative projects will be essential. We also value your ability to rapidly learn new techniques beyond current skills and abilities.

This project will be conducted at the Security Lancaster, one of the four flagship Lancaster Research Centres. It is amongst the first eight Academic Centres of Excellence in Cyber Security Research recognised by EPSRC and GCHQ and a core partner in the EPSRC PETRAS IoT Hub on Security, Privacy and Trust. Being a multi-disciplinary research centre, it consists of over 100 researchers (44 academic staff) from security, cryptography, sociology, behavioural science and law, etc.

The centre has close working relationships with major industry players such as Airbus, BAE Systems, IBM, Raytheon, Thales, and the Bank of England, and ever strengthening connections with relevant SMEs (e.g., Experto Crede, Xyone), and with government organizations such as Cabinet Office, BIS, CPNI, DSTL, GCHQ, Home Office, Interpol and National Crime Agency. Meetings between representatives of these stakeholders and Security Lancaster academics now occur on a weekly basis.

This is a one year fixed term appointment.

Informal enquiries to Dr Bingsheng Zhang, email: [email protected] or telephone +44 (0)1524510499.

We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, as well as the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
