The Department of Public Health and Primary Care, one of Europe's leading academic departments of population health sciences, wishes to appoint a part-time (20%) Principal Research Associate in Systems Genomics and Population Health.

The post-holder will be an international leader in systems genomics, with strong interests in cardiovascular diseases and traits. He/she will have a primary interest in computational approaches that enable integration of multiple domains of information (eg, genomic, expression, protein, metabolite, clinical) to: advance prediction of cardiovascular and other chronic diseases; identify and prioritise novel risk factors and pathways; and inform therapeutic target prioritisation. He/she will have extensive experience of handling and analysing large amounts of complex data, and an ability to link with clinical and mechanistic science.

The position is closely linked to an outstanding academic environment in Cambridge, including the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, the Wellcome Genome Campus (including the European Bioinformatics Institute and the Sanger Institute), and the Cambridge British Heart Foundation Centre of Excellence.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the Principal Research Associate scale (£58,655 pa to £67,971 pa pro rata), depending on experience / qualifications.

This is a fixed-term position of three years in the first instance.
