Casualty Underwriter

This is an excellent opportunity for a Casualty Underwriter to join a leading and well-known Insurance Company, with offices in Auckland CBD. You will provide underwriting expertise and services to brokers, with a real focus on new business development. Responsibilities

• Underwriting profitable new and renewal casualty risks within authority limits
• Drive Broker engagement and develop new business opportunities
• Build strong internal relationships across your team and the business
• Develop working relationships with brokers, agents, intermediaries and re-insurers
• Implement strategies to ensure you are providing the best premiums and cover for your clients

Skills

• Insurance Qualifications
• Excellent knowledge of (and existing underwriting experience) in Commercial insurance products (Casualty highly desired)
• Sound Risk Management knowledge
• Good general commercial, marketing, sales and financial knowledge
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to influence and persuade
• Demonstrated attributes of attention to quality and detail, decision-making and problem-solving
• Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
