Porters Boutique Hotel offers a new level of luxury accommodation in the village of Havelock North, Hawkes Bay. Havelock North is the gateway to all of Hawkes Bay's many attractions with world class wineries, Te Mata Peak, Cape Kidnappers, the Tuki Tuki River and a number of beaches on its doorstep.
We currently have the opportunity for a customer service orientated professional to join our friendly Front Office team in the role of night porter. This position offers you the opportunity to work in a truly unique hotel property in an exceptional team environment that fosters training and development and career progression.
In this role you will have sole charge of the hotel overnight. You will report directly to the Hotel General Manager and will be responsible for Night Audit and Porter duties which include:
- Checking and balancing the day's transactions
- Ensuring accurate charges to our guest's rooms
- Ensuring the safety and security of our guests
- Completing the night audit process reconciliation & excel reporting
- Front Office duties such as checking in late arrivals, or settling accounts of early departures
- Assisting the team with guest requests, including check-in and out, switchboard operations and reservations
- Prepare and deliver overnight room service function
- Preform basic cleaning tasks
- Oversee the operation of the hotel
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Previous experience with a property management system
- Exceptional customer service skills, communication, and time management skills
- A friendly and outgoing personality
- Proven ability to work unsupervised
- A willingness to use initiative and strong problem solving skills
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of computer literacy and accuracy
- Ability to work evening shifts 10.45 pm – 7.15 am. Be reliable and flexible with the ability to work all shifts including weekends.
This position is 4-5 shifts (32-40 hours) per week dependent on the right candidate. The days will likely be set but it is yet to be confirmed which days.
