Based in Newmarket and reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, we have a newly created role for a Head of Asset Efficiency. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to be a part of our high performing business. This new role will see you leading the asset management lifecycle across Watercare assets through the management of teams responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordinating, directing and executing our asset management functions.

In leading this business unit you will be responsible for the optimisation of lifespan, value, and cost to service of Watercare assets and facilities which also includes physical security and asset protection. You will lead the development of advanced asset management practices, state of the art integrity test programmes and leading business management processes. Some of your key duties include:

  • Ensuring operational plans and goals reflect the strategic direction of the business
  • Managing a budget to a forecast through reviewing, reporting, and adjusting forward spend.
  • Leading field services that demonstrate a 'customer centric' approach to asset management
  • Managing asset, plant and facility security
  • Leading smart asset integrity testing including remote and scheduled testing


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualification in asset management, engineering or a related field
  • At least 10 years' experience in a senior asset management role
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in operations management including people, plant, and process
  • Knowledge and experience in business continuance systems and quality systems
  • Heightened safety culture awareness
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work in an agile way
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively
  • A background in water or wastewater operations
  • Equivalent to a tertiary degree in engineering, project management or a related field
  • Knowledge and demonstrated practice in finance and budget management
