About On Par

We are a boutique advertising company working in the golfing industry and have been rapidly making a name for ourselves in this sector.

We offer a unique opportunity for advertisers to market their products and services to the New Zealand golfing community through on-course signage, website and email marketing packages.

In doing this we generate additional revenue for our golf club partners. We play a key role in growing the game of golf across New Zealand, which is underpinned by a successful strategic partnership with New Zealand Golf.

This is an exciting time to join On Par as we continue to grow into this market. Our team is expanding as we partner with new golf clubs and our range of revenue streams increases and diversifies.

 

About the Role

We're looking for a Auckland based experienced sales and business development professional, available to start as soon as possible.

This role will only suit a true sales hunter and strong networker who is passionate and enthusiastic about sales and golf. If this is you then please read on…

Essentially, we partner with leading golf clubs across New Zealand to help them grow revenue through advertising and sponsorship packages. Outside of this we work with each club on other revenue opportunities. We set up and sell these multi-platform packages to carefully selected local and regional businesses that are ideally suited to each golfing community.

In the first instance, we work closely with each golf club's network of sponsors, suppliers, board members and club members to identify potential leads and sales opportunities. This generates the majority, if not all of the leads we require. For any shortfall we research and cold call suitable businesses from the local and regional community.

We then meet with these businesses to ascertain that their products and services suit the campaign and are of benefit to the golfing community. From there, we work out the advertising package that best suits their marketing requirements.

 

About You

As an outstanding communicator and networker, you are able to win trust in a confident and relaxed manner and find it easy to build strong relationships. You are a highly motivated individual who brings passion and energy to your sales.

As a consistent hunter and closer you are always looking for ways to maximise your sales opportunities and smash your targets. You do this with a high level of integrity and heaps of personality.

 

Accountabilities

Golf Club Advertising Campaigns:

  • Understand each golf club's unique attributes and sell to these
  • Manage allocation of packages to advertisers

Lead Generation:

  • Network with the club and golfing community to identify leads
  • Self-generate leads in targeted markets
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of sales opportunities

Selling Process:

  • Identify leads via the golf club network and through research
  • Book sales appointments
  • Conduct effective sales meetings by presenting packages to potential customers
  • Close sale during meeting or, where not possible, timely follow-up to secure the sale
  • Clearly communicate handover to the Operations Team
  • Ensure CRM contact records and opportunities are kept up to date

 

Experience

  • Solid sales experience is essential
  • Proven ability to consistently meet targets
  • Experience of the game of golf

 

Skills and Attributes

  • Self-motivated sales performer – ability to work autonomously
  • True hunter with passion and drive
  • Confidence to ask for the sale and handle objections effectively
  • A positive attitude with a 'glass half full' approach
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Confident telephone manner and articulate via email
  • Outstanding networking skills
  • A can-do attitude and an ability to just "get the job done"
  • Able to find your way around Microsoft Word & Excel. A knowledge of Powerpoint is preferable but not essential
  • Good time management skills
  • And a good sense of humour!
