Milmeq provides unique engineering technology to primary food processing operations around the world.  We are a full-solutions provider, delivering in-house design, engineering, manufacture and on-site installation.   

To join our  team in Auckland, we have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a proficient and customer focused Purchasing Administrator. As an integral part of our Delivery team, our purchasing team ensure that we have the right goods and services in the right place (globally) at the right time and at the best possible price.

Our ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the purchasing function and processes and a minimum 2 years’ experience working in a purchasing related role preferably in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment.   You will be focused on customer, cost and quality but most importantly have a willingness and ability to work as part of a team and an awareness for process improvement and compliance.

This role requires a high level of transactional purchasing administration as well as interaction (and negotiation) with suppliers and our internal project and manufacturing teams.  To be successful in this role you will need to have sound computer skills, a knack for keeping detail in order and great interpersonal skills.

In this varied role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking transactional purchasing – ensuring orders are raised in a timely manner and online systems updated.
  • Buying of goods, services and capital equipment
  • Freight forwarding and logistics
  • Tracking of orders and ensuring timely delivery
  • Acting as the Purchasing Lead on allocated projects
  • Ensuring that long lead items are specified and ordered to ensure delivery to project schedule.
