A new opportunity for a Quality Assurance Specialist working in the food categories has become available within the Corporate Buying department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will have a solid technical understanding of food products. They will strive to continually improve the quality of ALDI products through testing, researching, product development and providing effective technical consultancy to the Buying team.
Selection criteria:
- Degree or Diploma in relevant field such as Food Science is highly regarded.
- Effective technical communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant retail/manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian regulations.
- Experience in development of product specifications for food and beverage products.
- Experience in performing quality assessments of food and beverage products.
- Experience in regulatory and product label compliance.
- Have a strong understanding of chemical and microbiological testing.
- Ability to communicate with Regulatory Agencies.
- Experienced in technical investigation and report writing.

Role responsibilities:
- Work with the Buying teams, QA team, Suppliers and Technical Service Providers to develop and communicate QA requirements.
- Support the implementation of QA processes.
- Develop product performance requirements and support the implementation into contracts.
- Liaise with the suppliers’ QA team, testing laboratories and Buying teams on technical enquiries.
- Work with the Buying teams and suppliers to continuously improve ALDI branded products.
- Making sure that ALDI branded products are complaint with mandatory standards and ALDI requirements.
- Keep the Buying team informed of changing compliance requirements/standards.
- Performance management of external testing laboratories and Technical Service Providers.
- Develop training programs and conduct training of new staff coming into the ALDI team.
- Facilitate product compliance testing including external and internal testing.
- Coordinate quality assurance projects.
- Provide technical consultancy to the wider Buying team.
- Liaise with the Customer Service Department on complaint trends.
This role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
