With a trained and knowledgeable team of consultants, WSP is an industry leader in the management of asbestos and the provision of occupational hygiene services in the workplace, providing such services to both government and private sector clients across Queensland. As a result of significant growth in our business we are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Hygiene Consultant or Field Hygienist to join our Queensland team. The successful applicant would have a primary focus on asbestos in the workplace in their general duties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting asbestos monitoring and implementing programmes, including fibre count laboratory work
- Site surveys (including sampling and management / pre-demolition asbestos building surveys) and client liaison
- Provide asbestos reports and recommendation
- Provide site supervision in asbestos removal projects as the client asbestos consultant
- Broader non-asbestos, occupational hygiene work
- Two (2) or more years' experience as an asbestos surveyor / consultant in the field
- Be a Licenced Asbestos Assessor and have experience in undertaking airborne fibre monitoring and clearance inspections for asbestos remediation works
- Have experience in asbestos surveys of various types of structures, asbestos management, maintenance and review
- Experience in field works for other occupational hygiene disciplines would be advantageous but is not essential
- Hold a current open Australian Driver's License
- A degree in a Science, Occupational Hygiene and/or Safety Discipline or a related degree is advantageous but not essential
- Proficient computer skills and able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
