An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small but busy Quality team located in our client’s food distribution facility on the north side of Melbourne. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products dispatched to our client’s customers meet specification, quality and food safety requirements. This is achieved by completing quality control inspections and ensuring they have the necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Conduct quality assessments on products to ensure specifications are met while communicating results to the sales, marketing and distribution
- Maintain quality assurance and stock control documentation on all goods received and dispatched
- Monitor shelf life and quality in the cool rooms ensuring compliance to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and HACCP
- Assist with the training of warehouse staff in methods to improve quality control practices.
- Advise on compliance and regulation
- Report all quality activities and technical issues to the Quality Manager
- Assist with internal and external quality audits and inspections
To apply for this position you must have the following:
- Quality Assurance experience within food manufacturing is essential
- 2 - 3 years experience in similar quality role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good PC skills
- High attention to detail
- The ability to work under pressure
