About the role
The Equipment and Technologist Assistant (Casual) position will involve assisting our Equipment Technician & Lab Technologist.
As Equipment Assistant – you will assist our technician in the calibration, managing of stock, ordering of parts, test and tagging of equipment & other related activities. The secondary role of technologist assistant will involve cleaning & assembly of test rigs / equipment under the instruction of a senior lab technician.
This role will initially consist of (8 hrs per day) 2 to 3 days a week, which may increase to 4 to 5 days a week dependent on work load.

Skills and experience
Experience in working with the repair and maintenance of electronics, machinery and equipment would be ideal.
Able to use computer programs such as excel, word, outlook and being able to use the internet effectively are desirable skills. Nice to have skills; would include a driver's licence, forklift ticket, test and tag licence, general workshop, lathe/mill and welding experience.
The person suited for this position would ideally be; happy to get your hands dirty, organised, able to work independently, work flexible hours & prepared to give a range of different activities a go. The ideal candidate should be a knowledgeable hobbyist, or hold a relevant TAFE training / trade background – with experience in electronic, instrumentation, electrical, robotics & laboratory.
Candidate should have a safe approach to working, positive attitude, a sense of humour while being punctual, reliable and honest.
