The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Scientist with a strong background in noise and acoustics assessments within the infrastructure (roads/rail) space to develop and grow their skillset within the Environmental team.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure that technical tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
  • Apply project management principles in carrying out tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
  • Conduct Noise Assessments for major road and rail projects as required, including creating written reports for submission.
  • Assist the team with environmental monitoring such as impact assessments and gas/soil vapour monitoring.
  • Provide support and advice to the wider business as a technical specialist in the noise and acoustics space.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Degree qualified in Environmental Sciences/Engineer or related field.
  • Substantial experience in major infrastructure projects or as site services.
  • Excellent project management skills. Ability team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Expertise in noise and vibration monitoring.
  • Experience with relevant modelling software and equipment.
