About the role
The Sample Preparation Supervisor located in Adelaide, SA will be responsible for supervising the preparation of samples in accordance with client requested protocol, for the analysis and assay by client requested methods.
Duties
The primary purpose of this role is to supervise the preparation of samples in accordance with client requested protocol, for the analysis and assay by client requested methods. The primary tasks and responsibilities of the role includes, but is not limited to:
- Coordinate and lead the team to meet individual /shift productivity targets
- Ensure work flows are optimised and prioritised at all stages in sample preparation
- Check all sorting paperwork is completed correctly and sign paperwork as supervisor checked.
- Staff supervision and accountability;
- Monitor staff attendance and punctuality,
- Task allocation,
- Ensure staff have the correct equipment to perform allocated tasks,
- Monitor staff performance and quality expectations
- Enforce expected performance standards
- Enforce Intertek policies and procedure, including HR, OH&S production and quality,
- Staff training as instructed by the Department Supervisor.
- Coordinate housekeeping during the shift
- Troubleshoot and calibrate plant and equipment
- Check all shift production quotas have been reached.
- Assist in production where necessary
- Sort samples without supervision
- Prepare for the next shift and pre-fill Production Log
- Follow all QHSE requirements to ensure safety of staff, visitors and contractors
- Data entry and logging into LIMS system.
Skills and experience
The positions would ideally suit applicants with:
- Certificate lV in Laboratory operations or equivalent, or equivalent experience,
- Demonstrated leadership skills,
- Communication, literacy and numeracy skills in English,
- The ability to work as part of a team,
- The ability to perform manual handling and lift 10 – 15kg safely,
- Sound knowledge of Sample Preparation Systems,
- Sound knowledge of Data Entry procedure,
- Access to private transport,
- Driver’s license desirable,
- Forklift license desirable.
