The company
Our client is a global food and beverage industry leader, based in the south-eastern suburbs.
The quality assurance department is currently expanding and looking to add a MICROBIOLOGIST to the team.
The role
This is a part-time position; the working hours will ideally be 10am-4pm Monday through Friday.
On a daily basis you will:
- Investigate the growth, structure, development, and other characteristics of microscopic organisms, such as bacteria, yeast and mold.
- Oversee samples to determine potential presence of microbiological growth
- Ensure accuracy of microbiological plating tests and results
- Record, analyze and interpret data
- Refine and improve existing methods using continuous improvement principles
- Provide support for root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans for microbiological related concerns
- Review, update and/or implement relevant SOPs
About you
Ideally, you will have experience as a microbiologist in the Food and Beverage industry.
It is expected that applicants hold a bachelor’s degree in MICROBIOLOGY.
