Customer Service Representative

Avnet, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVT), a fortune 500 Company, is one of the largest distributors of electronic components, computer products and embedded technology serving customers in more than 70 countries worldwide.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Melbourne for a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join the local Avnet team. The position is a 6 month Maternity Leave Contract with possibility of further extensions.


Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Victoria State Sales Manager, you will be working in a team environment supporting Sales, Application Engineers and other CSR teams to promote and sell the Avnet products and services to the market.

Your major duties will include:

·         Regularly service and maintain a given customer base.

·         Telephone sales.

·         Respond to Customer queries with priority.

·         Liaise with Business Development Team for customers requiring specific product information.

·         Process customer orders and follow up to ensure on time delivery.

·         Provide Account Manager with internal sales support for designated accounts.

·         Process quotations and follow up. 

·         Release orders for shipment and ensure all required paperwork is completed and submitted.

·         Routinely review sales performance and strategies. 

·         Other duties as directed by the State Manager or the assigned customer Account Manager

Education & Qualifications

VCE Minimum, TAFE or above preferred.


Experience

This role requires the following capabilities:

·         Attention to detail and very high levels of accuracy

·         The ability to multi-task and to prioritise

·         Work under minimum supervision – self-motivated and professional in your work outlook

·         Committed to the role and consistent in job attendance

·         To be willing and capable of learning new skills and complex computer based ERP based programs

·         Very high levels of English written and spoken communication skills and the ability to quickly grasp the issue at hand and undertake quick actions to resolve.

·         Good decision making skills

·         The ability to deal with customers and teams outside Australia and ensure clear and concise communication.

·         To be able to handle high volume of enquiries either by phone or email.

·         Demonstrable High level of computer literacy including Outlook and Excel. SAP experience will be highly regarded.

While not essential, knowledge of Electronic Components and Distribution, Manufacturing as well as dealing in a Multinational environment would be highly regarded.

Training is predominantly On-The Job.

Working hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Salary Package will be based on experience and will also include an OTE
