About the role
As a newly created role within WorkCover Queensland, this position will be responsible for providing corporate legal advice and implementing WorkCover’s legal risk framework. In this role, you will also contribute to delivery of the performance management and monitoring of WorkCover’s external legal panel and will contribute to research, strategic projects and legal education with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
Admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, your 5+ years of post-admission experience is evident in your practical problem solving, verbal, written and presentation skills including the ability to present recommendations clearly and effectively.
With a proven ability to achieve successful outcomes, your understanding of legal issues in relation to corporate governance, commercial and procurement/contract issues, litigation and insurance is coupled with a strong financial/business acumen including the ability to interpret financial and statistical reports.
Comfortable managing complex and sensitive consultations, negotiations and partnership arrangements with a wide range of stakeholders, your willingness to contribute to the team and to work effectively and cooperatively with stakeholders will assist you in achieving group and organisational goals.
