We are currently looking for a lawyer with loan documentation experience to join our legal team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Head Counsel Group Legal and assisting other members of the team this role supports key business units within the bank. The core responsibilities of this role involve acting as an adviser primarily to our front office and credit teams on a range of transactions within the Country Banking division. The role also involves supervising and communicating with our panel law firms. In addition to drafting and reviewing loan and security documentation, day to day tasks include preparing, reviewing and implementing policies, procedures and training materials as well as some research in order to monitor regulatory/law changes and provide advice accordingly.
You are currently a lawyer with several years’ experience who has a strong grounding in banking and finance. Sound experience in some key areas including PPSR, real property and rural securities and conveyancing will be looked upon favourably as would time spent in-house. You pride yourself on your ability to build robust stakeholder relationships to reach the best outcomes for the business. You are a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW or equivalent and hold a Bachelor of Law at minimum.
