This is a newly created opportunity for a Lawyer to join one of Australias most prestigious Intellectual Property firms.

This position works closely with Senior Principals to contribute to contentious and non-contentious work across a broad spectrum of Intellectual Property matters such as patents, designs, trade mark, copyright, misleading and deceptive conduct, passing off and contract matters.
   
Key Responsibilities
  • Advising clients on patents, designs, trade marks, copyright, moral rights, misleading and deceptive conduct and passing off;
  • Assisting intellectual property litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing evidence and submissions;
  • Assisting patent and trade mark oppositions and hearings before IP Australia;
  • Drafting cease and desist letters, pre-litigation correspondence and engaging in settlement negotiations;
  • Drafting of a broad range of intellectual property and general commercial agreements, including assignments, licences, settlement agreement, co-existence agreements and research agreements;
  • Conducting IP due diligences;
  • Filing Customs Notices with the Australian Border Force and conducting brand protection training for Customs officers;
  • Being a key point of contact for clients  
Knowledge and Skills

  • 2-3 years post qualification experience
  • Strong commercial drafting skills;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Personable with an engaging style and ability to form strong relationships with a range of people
