Grow Early Education Darling Heights is a brand new 80 place premium early learning centre. We are seeking an experienced chef/cook who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals for children in our new purpose built and fully equipped kitchen.
This is a permanent part time role with 37.5hours a week, working Monday to Friday between 6.30am and 3.00pm. The role will be to start early October 2018.
The successful applicant will;
- Have experience and passion for cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods that are suitable for children aged 4months to 6 years;
- Have completed relevant vocational qualifications in commercial cookery, valid employment blue card and have experience working in a childcare kitchen environment;
- Be experienced in developing a rotating menu for children, including those with allergy and intolerance requirements;
- Be reliable, positive and well organised person;
- Have good time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen;
- Provide a barista service to families, on the job training will be provided;
- Enjoy working with families, colleagues and children.
You will be responsible for;
- Preparing for a nutritious and on time breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for babies and children each day, including the preparation of purees and special dietary meals;
- Menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines;
- Working in line with budgets and local suppliers;
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements;
- Providing a barista service to families, training will be provided.
