We have an opportunity at our 60 bed historical sea side property operated as a backpacer hostel situated on South Australia’s beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. It is well maintained, has very high guest ratings, relaxed atmosphere and runs a fully computerised property management system.
There is scope to make significant increases to occupancy, especially in Group and Rent-a-YHA stays. The Service Contract is structured to ensure that the managers receive a share of increased financial performance of the hostel.
We are NOT recruiting employees for this position, but experienced contractors with their own company. The ideal applicant is a couple, experienced in youth/budget accommodation, who have a passion for sustainability and are interested in living in a small, friendly town in coastal South Australia from December onwards.
Managing a regional YHA is a lifestyle choice, it’s a 24/7 role and factored into your planning will be hiring some part time assistance and holiday cover.
The Managers receive:
- A 1 bedroom apartment
- A guaranteed base income
- Profit share on growth of the business
- Share of the income on non-overnight income
- YHA covers expenses of running and maintaining the hostel
- YHA provides National and Regional marketing
The Managers responsibilities include:
- All reception and hostel management duties
- All standard YHA record keeping and reporting
- All housekeeping duties, including laundering bedding
- Maintaining the grounds and hostel maintenance
- Local marketing and relationships
- Managing own WHS and Workcover insurance
- YHA quality assurance
- Attendance at annual national managers conference and regional meetings
- Participation in national and regional marketing promotions
This role will commence in December 2018.
