We have a rare opportunity for an accomplished Travel Industry professional to join and be an integral part of the Magellan Head Office team based in South Melbourne.

Magellan Travel is a leading travel group for independent-branded agencies who are focused on a high-end leisure and SME corporate customer base.

Now a part of Helloworld Travel Limited, Magellan consists of 126 agency members and is run by a small and passionate Head Office team of six people based in South Melbourne who focus on servicing and supporting our members and their needs.

Magellan Travel was recognized as the Best Non-Branded Travel Agency Group at the National Travel Industry Awards in both 2015 and 2017 and are finalists once again in 2018.

Your new role

  • Ensuring necessary support is provided to each area of the business in order to deliver Product, Marketing and Member Services to Magellan Travel Agencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate member communication and manage content of the Magellan Member’s Portal
  • Liaise with suppliers and load and manage preferred partner content to the Magellan Member’s Portal
  • Coordinate and promote exclusive supplier and member benefit programs such as Signature Travel Network
  • Manage all Member Administration including subscriptions and memberships and provide Personal Assistance to the General Manager.
  • In conjunction with the Helloworld Events team plan and manage State Dinners, Annual Conference and other Magellan events including Event program, Sponsorship, Workshops, Presenters and Member and Supplier communication 
  • Manage the Learning & Development Program, the Magellan Awards program and the Magellan famil program and assist with new member induction and training
  • Provide first line assistance to Members with all their enquiries

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in the travel or tourism industry is a requirement
  • Demonstrated customer service focus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective problem-solving skills and takes initiative
  • Ability to work well in a small team environment
  • Advanced computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook
  • A “can do” attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Marketing, communications or an events qualification highly desirable 
  • Availability to work after hours
